A video detailing exactly why Lionel Messi wants to leave Barcelona this summer has emerged and it proves he hasn't been happy for a long time.

The Argentine international has spent his entire career with Barcelona and is still one of the world's best players.

However, a humiliating 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League has resulted in Messi considering his future at the Nou Camp.

The six-time Ballon d'Or winner no longer 'sees his future definitively' in Spain and IbraAlliance's video shows frustration has been building for a while.

In the video, the 33-year-old can be seen ignoring former manager Quique Setien's assistant during a drinks break as he attempts to discuss tactics.

Another low came during a 2-1 defeat to Osasuna in July - which handed bitter rivals Real Madrid the La Liga title.

Messi spoke to Spanish media following the game and he admitted: "This game represents the entire year. We have been an erratic and weak team.

"I said it some time ago, that playing like this we had no chance of winning the Champions League, and it turns out we didn't even have enough to win La Liga.

"We need to take a breather, let some air in, and clean out minds of all that has happened since December.

"Playing like this we will lose against Napoli. We have to start from zero in the Champions League and blame ourselves for what went wrong."

His words of warning did nothing to impact Barca's performance against Bayern and they were 4-1 down at half-time.

Images from the dressing room emerged after the game and Messi looked distraught.

The 8-2 defeat ended up being Barca's third humiliating exit from the Champions League in a row, after blowing leads against Roma and Liverpool in 2018 and 2019 respectively.

Barcelona club president Josep Bartomeu has stressed Messi is 'non-transferable' and claims he'll spent his whole career with the club.
