He was at one time a club legend.

It seems like a long, long time ago now but there was a period where Gabby Agbonlahor was on the fringes of the England squad, having performed well regularly for his boyhood club Aston Villa.

Back in 2010, the forward scored 16 goals for the Villains across all campaigns and was considered one of the brightest young players in English football.

Agbonlahor was a key member of Martin O'Neill's side around this time. The Midlands side narrowly missed out on the Champions League in three consecutive seasons, with the side, sadly, capitulating towards the end of the campaign each time.

What Agbonlahor offered the side was his immense speed. He was billed as one of the fastest players in the league. But despite his talent, the attacker ran into a bunch of controversies in his later years at Villa Park, such as being unfit for matches and losing much of his goal-scoring prowess.

Even still, he's been at the club for so long that Villa supporters were likely feeling slightly sad when the announcement came that he had been let go by the side, after their Play-off final loss.

There were suggestions that a return could be on the cards but these rumours were squashed.

Now recent reports suggest the the striker could make the move to Turkey, with newly promoted Super Lig Yeni Malatyaspor having made him an offer. They're even confident of a deal coming through. This is according to the publication Turkish Football, who you would think know their stuff.

Where do you think Agbonlahor will end up? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
