Barcelona have been dealt a dreadful blow ahead of their huge Champions League match against Bayern Munich, with the club struggling to sell tickets.
Due to coronavirus restrictions, the Camp Nou are only allowed to house 40,000 fans for Tuesday night's clash. However, Mail Online claims only 31,213 tickets have been requested.
The report suggests the club were expecting to receive more demands and even had a lottery system in place to help select which fans could watch the game.
Tickets are now on general sale, with prices ranging from 109 to 199 Euros.
This will be Barcelona's first game in Europe without talisman Lionel Messi, who left the club in the summer to join PSG. The match is also the first time the Spanish giants have took on Bayern Munich since losing 8-2 to them just over a year ago.
This is not the first time Ronald Koeman's side have not attracted a full crowd at home. Last month, only 19,000 fans were in attendance for their match against Getafe, with coronavirus restrictions and the traditions of fans' holidays in August used to rationalise the low numbers.
This will be Barcelona's first match after the international break following the postponement of their clash with Sevilla this weekend. This was at the request of La Liga, as this match and Villarreal and Alaves clashed with World Cup Qualifiers for South American teams yesterday afternoon and thus prevented some of the league's stars from featuring for their clubs.
The Catalan club currently sit in 4th place in the La Liga table, having won two and drawn one from the opening three encounters.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich return to action tonight away to RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga. Manager Julian Nagelsmann will be looking to take their exceptional start to the domestic season into Tuesday's game, with The Bavarians unbeaten in their first four, having scored a staggering 12 goals already.
