Footage shows Cristiano Ronaldo hyping up Man Utd teammates before kick off

Ronaldo has been criticised for his attitude in the past but the footage shows he'll still support his United teammates even from the bench.

Cristiano Ronaldo still goes round to all his Manchester United teammates to hype them up before kick off, even when he's on the bench, as can be seen in the video below.

According to reports, Ronaldo has been trying to leave United all summer, in an attempt to make sure he's playing in the Champions League this season.

The 37-year-old has hinted that most of the headlines about him since June have been lies but presumably the one about him wanting to leave Old Trafford isn't one of them.

It seems more likely that the forward will be disputing the type of report that has suggested that his teammates have become 'fed up' with him.

Apparently, despite having allies within the United team, many of the squad have become annoyed at how he's going about things.

However, the video suggests he's not exactly downed tools or stopped giving his colleagues the love they need before games, even when he's not starting.

The five time Ballon d'Or winner is having to get used to not starting games this season, having only been in the line up once out of United's first three games.

He was on the bench for the loss to Brighton, as Erik ten Hag decided to play a false nine, which didn't work, before he started against Brentford, which didn't work to an even bigger degree, as they were battered 4-0.

After that game, which plummeted the side to bottom of the league, Ronaldo refused to clap the away support or shake hands with Erik ten Hag, which might be why some criticise his attitude.

The manager then made the decision to take both Ronaldo and captain Harry Maguire out of the starting line up on Monday night against Liverpool.

Marcus Rashford started up front and bagged United's second, assisted by Anthony Martial, who could be the starting striker now he's returned from injury.

The Frenchman was in excellent form in pre season, after coming back from his loan to Sevilla, and many had even backed him to be Premier League top scorer.

United now have just a week to finish all their summer transfer deals, with Antony expected to join the club, and that includes whether or not Ronaldo will be leaving or if he'll still be around for the final year of his contract.
