Cristiano Ronaldo accuses media of ‘telling lies’ and will soon reveal the truth about his situation

Ronaldo has been linked with a move away from Manchester United all summer.

Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has accused the media of ‘telling lies’ and has vowed to reveal the truth in an upcoming interview.

According to Sportsmail, United are not going to sell Ronaldo in the last few weeks of the summer transfer window.

Ronaldo took to Instagram to reply to a fan account speculating about his future, the 37-year-old claimed that the media are telling lies.

He wrote: “They know the truth when they interview in a couple weeks. The media is telling lies.

“I have a notebook and in the last few months of the 100 news I made, only 5 were right. Imagine how it is. Stick with that tip.”

It has been widely reported since July that Ronaldo was seeking a move away from United due to their lack of Champions League football on the back of a miserable 21/22 campaign.

However, despite his desire to move elsewhere, United have been adamant from day one that the five time Ballon d’Or winner was not for sale.

The rumours intensified when the Portuguese international missed the club’s pre season tour of Thailand and Australia, though due to family/personal reasons.

Since his transfer request, many clubs have been linked with a move for Ronaldo, however, a move never materialised and he found himself back in the United fold ahead of the Premier League season.

Erik ten Hag previously spoke publicly about Ronaldo’s future, insisting that he is not for sale and is part of his plans for the season.

He said: “We are planning with Cristiano Ronaldo for this season and that's it. I'm looking forward to working with him.

“I don't know [how to make him happy], he hasn't told me this. But Cristiano Ronaldo is not for sale, he's in our plans and we want to get success together.”

However, it was reported this week that Ten Hag could make a U turn on his decision if a suitable offer was to come in for Ronaldo

The Portugal captain started on the bench for United’s first game of the season against Brighton at Old Trafford, a week later he started the game against Brentford, which was a game to forget as United were handed a 4-0 thrashing by Thomas Frank’s side.

Up next for Ten Hag and his men is a crunch match against bitter rivals Liverpool, with both sides searching for their first win of the season after a disappointing start.

Will Ronaldo stay or leave? Only time will tell.
