Wayne Rooney's testimonial certainly didn't have the entertainment usually associated with the types of games.
The Manchester United talisman was paid tribute to in a friendly against first club Everton at Old Trafford tonight. Usually, testimonials see two teams go up against each other in a relaxed atmosphere, with retired players also getting a run out and the main man getting a goal by hook or by crook.
But that wasn't the case here, as United and Everton played out a bore 0-0 draw, with Rooney replaced after 53 minutes. It had more the feel of a pre-season friendly, with the Community Shield just around the corner for United and the Premier League season set to get underway a week on Saturday for both teams.
However, there was a brilliant moment involving Memphis Depay as the game headed for a draw. The Dutchman looked like he could have had a chance at a bicycle kick when a long, high cross was delivered into the back post. But the winger, after setting himself up in the air, quickly realised it wasn't for him - and gave up on the effort.

We all found it funny - and obviously Rooney and his son Kai did too:
