It's an interesting draw.

Upon the conclusion of the FA Cup third round weekend, we decided to simulate the draw for the next set of fixtures and it produced some tasty encounters.

The matches to take place in the fourth round proper will be decided at around 7:50 GMT on Monday, January 8, ahead of a third-round tie between Wigan and Manchester United.

There will be 32 balls in the hat as English football’s most prestigious competition intensifies, with Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea all set to feature.

And when simulating our own version of the draw, reigning champions City found themselves in an away tie against Hollywood’s favourite League Two outfit Wrexham.

Meanwhile, Liverpool, who beat Arsenal 2-0 to qualify for the fourth round, have been drawn against the competition’s lowest-ranked team - Maidstone United, managed by former Wolverhampton Wanderers defender George Elokobi.

Elsewhere, the winner of United vs Wigan has been drawn against one of West Ham United or Bristol City, while Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham will face Championship high-flyers Leeds United.

Furthermore, Aston Villa will take on city rivals West Bromwich Albion.
