Everton vs Liverpool: Is game on TV? Channel and live stream

Liverpool travel to Goodison Park this afternoon to face rivals Everton in the Merseyside Derby, off the back of their dramatic victory over Newcastle on Wednesday night.

The Reds needed 98 minutes to take all three points against Eddie Howe’s side, with new signing Fabio Carvalho grabbing the winning goal.

Jurgen Klopp’s outfit had been frustrated by the Magpies low, compact block and struggled to break them down throughout the game.

However, Carvalho’s late volley meant they managed their second win of the season and climbed to 6th in the Premier League. They remain seven points behind leaders Arsenal.

Across the city, Everton remain winless this campaign after being held by Leeds at Elland Road on Tuesday night.

The Blues opened the scoring through Anthony Gordon, but the winger’s goal was cancelled out by a long-range effort from Luis Sinisterra.

The result leaves the Toffees a place above the drop zone and they’ll be desperate to secure their first three points of the season when they host their bitter rivals at lunchtime today.

Here’s everything you need to know about Everton vs Liverpool.

Everton Team News

Frank Lampard has an extensive injury list to contend with, and most of those absent aren’t expected to be ready for this game.

The former Chelsea player and manager will once again be without star striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who continues to struggle with a knee issue.

Yerry Mina, Ben Godfrey, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Mason Holgate and Andros Townsend are all still out, although a few new additions could be involved.

James Garner arrived on deadline day for £15 million from Manchester United, while Idrissa Gana Gueye returned to the club he left for Paris Saint-Germain in 2019.

Additionally, striker Neal Maupay could get his debut after joining from Brighton this week, the Frenchman missed out against Leeds due to a paperwork issue.

Liverpool’s midfield crisis has potentially been worsened after Jordan Henderson limped off with a hamstring issue against Newcastle on Wednesday.

Although the severity of the injury has not been revealed, he isn’t expected to feature at Goodison Park.

Henderson is added to the list of midfield players struggling with fitness at Anfield, joining the likes of Thiago Alcantara, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita.

However, the Reds have signed Arthur Melo on a season-long loan from Juventus, which will ease some of these issues. Whether the paperwork was completed in time for this game remains to be seen, but it’s possible he’ll feature in his first Merseyside derby today.

Crucially for Klopp, marquee signing Darwin Nunez is available for selection again after serving his three match ban for headbutting Joachim Andersen.

The German boss will still be without Diogo Jota, Ibrahima Konate and Caoimhin Kelleher, all of whom remain sidelined. Joel Matip and Curtis Jones returned to the bench in midweek, so could feature today.
