The only team that Everton fans are backing to get relegated this season is… Everton.

This stat arises from The Toffees fans that are part of the Ladbrokes Fanzone backing their team to finish in the bottom three of the league this season.

Whilst there’s no argument that Goodison Park is always packed to the rafters with very loud Evertonions come rain or shine, it seems that the Merseyside faithful are incredibly pessimistic about their team’s campaign this season.

Everton finished 17th last season with their safety being confirmed on the final day thanks to a 1-0 win over Bournemouth. The Toffees flirted with relegation all season but just managed to survive by the skin of their teeth.

However their fortunes at the start of this season haven’t been any different. Last Saturday was the Toffee’s first victory in six attempts with a much-needed win against Brentford.

Sean Dyche’s men will be hoping their fortunes have now changed following star man Dominic Calvert-Lewin returning from injury and getting himself back on the scoresheet.

There was more to shout about for Everton fans during the week after knocking fellow league side Aston Villa out of the cup in their own backyard.

Fans from fellow league teams are a bit more optimistic about Everton’s chances and disagree with them being relegated. Instead, the most backed teams to be relegated this season are Sheffield United, Luton Town and Wolves. Whilst newly-promoted Sheffield United and Luton were favourites to go down, Wolves were the ones that people were backing most to go down, with 14% of the bets from the Ladbrokes Fanzone going on the side managed by Gary O’Neil.

Wolves currently sit one place beneath Everton in 16th on the same number of points and just three above the relegation zone.

According to Ladbrokes Fanzone, 14% of Everton fans also think the misery for the blue side of Merseyside will continue with Liverpool winning the league.
