Manchester City ready to make huge offer to keep Erling Haaland away from Real Madrid

Haaland could become the Premier League's all-time top earner, as City are desperate to make sure he doesn't move to Real.

Erling Haaland could be set for a new huge bumper pay packet at Manchester City, as the club continue to try and keep him away from Real Madrid.

Haaland has spent the entire season disrespecting the establishment in the Premier League, quickly going about trying to break every record available to him.

The City striker has 28 goals in 26 appearances, meaning he has 12 league games to beat Mohamed Salah's 32 goals in a 38 game season record, or Alan Shearer's 34 goals in a 42 game season.

There is some fear that he could be missing for his club for a few games, after missing the international break with Norway, but he's likely to be back soon.

Certainly Pep Guardiola will be desperate to have him back, as the Premier League champions continue to try to chase down Arsenal, as well as battle for the FA Cup and Champions League.

His eight goals in two games across those competitions, including a 10/10 performances in Europe, showed exactly how important he is to the end of the season.

No team in the world wouldn't want the 22-year-old in their team right now, and European champions Real would certainly be amongst them.

Los Blancos have been linked with the Norwegian in the past and, according to the Sun, City are ready to take drastic steps to be sure a move doesn't happen.

The British outlet claim City want to sit down with the striker in the summer to increase his wages up to £500,000-a-week, which would make him the league's top earner.

The former Borussia Dortmund striker currently earns a reported £375,000-a-week, putting him level with teammate Kevin de Bruyne and Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea.

De Gea's current deal expires in the summer, if he is to stay, it's expected that the Spanish keeper would be asked to sign a highly reduced deal.

La Liga giants Real have been linked with the Leeds born forward in the past, and the player's agent revealed why he chose City over them.

They were expected to make a move for him when the Premier League side signed him last summer, but at the time they were concentrating on Kylian Mbappe, who they could still move for in the near future.

Another issue for Florentino Perez's side when it comes to signing Haaland in the future could be Endrick, the Brazilian wonderkid.

They have already agreed to sign the teenager, with reports there was an 'anti-Haaland' clause added in his contract, as he looks to become first choice striker at the club when he arrives in 2024.
