The top 10 players by transfer value have been revealed, Erling Haaland comes out on top

Erling Haaland is enjoying a stellar first season at Manchester City

The 10 players with the highest transfer values have been ranked, with Manchester City megastar Erling Haaland coming out on top.

Haaland left Borussia Dortmund for City last summer in a deal worth a reported £51 million. Since then, he has gone on to light up English football with 36 goals in 35 Premier League appearances.

Across all competitions, the Norwegian has scored 52 goals in 52 matches.

According to Football Observatory CIES, Haaland is the player with the highest transfer value, with his price set at €245.1 million.

Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr was ranked second with €196.3 million whilst Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka came third with a transfer value of €195.8 million.

Jude Bellingham and Rodrygo were next with €190.2 million and €184.5 million respectively.

Barcelona duo Pedri(€178 million) and Gavi(€174.1 million) were ranked sixth and seventh respectively.

In eighth and ninth place were Jamal Musiala(€170.2 million) and Phil Foden(€166.8 million) but the real surprise was the fact that Kylian Mbappe was only ranked 10th, having been valued at €163.2 million.

However, the fact that Mbappe’s contract with Paris Saint Germain is only valid until 2024 will have played a part in his lower transfer value.

If the list was ranked based on contracts of more than three years, Mbappe would have a transfer value of €261.8 million, which is only second to Vinicius’ huge €314.9 million, with Haaland in third with €245.1 million.

Haaland will have the chance to further enhance his transfer value as he is gearing up for a Champions League final outing this weekend.

Inter Milan are the ones standing in City’s way of completing the treble after Pep Guardiola’s men already secured the Premier League and the FA Cup.
