Erik ten Hag admits Manchester United 'f**ked up' against Sevilla as he praised his side following their win over Nottingham Forest, with fans loving his honesty.

Man United threw away a two-goal lead as they drew 2-2 with Sevilla in their Europa League quarter-final first-leg tie at Old Trafford last week.

They returned to the win column yesterday as the Red Devils beat Forest 2-0 to secure three league points.

Ten Hag hailed his team following the result, highlighting the concentration his side showed and the amount of chances they created.

On the victory at the City Ground, he told talkSPORT: "I think it was a very solid performance. From start to finish, everyone really concentrated, we conceded no chances except some from set pieces.

"There were no transition moments, we didn’t allow them anything and we created a lot.

"We scored two great goals - the only thing if I wanted to criticise my team would be to score more goals because we created so much."

Ten Hag added: "How do you win the game? Focus on the process of this game to win the game and I think everybody knows how important mentally it is to get a win today. When you get the points today they’re much more valuable than at the start of the season.

"This weekend was a good weekend, but you have to stay focused and bring it every game because there are no easy games in the Premier League."

The Dutch boss continued by turning his attention to their European showdown as he made a frank admission, which Man United fans loved.

"We go from game to game, so today we took one step in the Premier League and now we have to focus on the next game and we have to bring another performance," he said.

"We f**ked it up on Thursday so now we know how we have to come back. We made mistakes and we can’t make them and now we go to Seville and have to do a great performance to win there."

One Twitter user wrote: "No way he said this the boss is cooking."

A second tweeted: "No holding back our manager."

A third added: "Love this manager man."

A fourth said: "He's so real for this."
