England supporters believe more than ever that the World Cup could finally be ‘Ours To Take’ after Sunday’s World Cup Round of 16 win over Senegal, according to research carried out by LADnation on behalf of Budweiser - the official beer of the FIFA World Cup™.

Goals from Jordan Henderson, Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka saw the Three Lions make it through to the quarter-final for the second World Cup in succession as they brushed aside Senegal. Gareth Southgate’s side are now just three games away from lifting the trophy this winter.

It's been 56 years since England last tasted World Cup success and the study, supported by Budweiser - the official beer of the England football team - shows 57% of supporters scored between 6 and 10 in optimism meaning they’re optimistic that the World Cup is ‘Ours To Take’ with England becoming World Champions.

The research has seen fan’s hopes of England lifting the trophy grow ever since the Wales win, with more than half the fans surveyed after the victory over their close rivals believing Gareth Southgate’s side have what it takes to bring football home.

That’s in stark contrast to when the tournament was just about to get underway, where less than half (48%) of fans believed it was ‘Ours To Take’.

However, confidence rapidly grew to 54% after the 6-2 victory in England’s opening group game against Iran. Optimism is now at an all-time high heading into the quarter-final against France on Saturday.

Victory over France at the weekend, would make it back-to-back semi-finals for Gareth Southgate’s side, having reached the same stage in Russia in 2018 before they bowed out to Croatia in extra time.
