Drake just lost £745,000 bet on Leeds vs Arsenal and El Clasico

That's a serious amount of money...

Canadian rapper Drake is $833,00,000 [£745,000] out of pocket after he placed a staggering bet on Arsenal and Barcelona to win against Leeds and Real Madrid on Sunday.

Earlier this week, it was announced that Barcelona would wear Drake's logo on the front of their shirts for Sunday's El Clasico.

As part of Barca's new sponsorship deal with music streaming giants Spotify, the Catalan club sported the owl logo of Drake's label OVO for this weekend's trip to the Bernabeu.

The logo replaced Spotify's on Barcelona's shirt for one match as part of the agreement. In fact, further collaborations with other artists are likely to happen later on in the season.

A statement on Barcelona's website read: "One of the main ideas behind the alliance between FC Barcelona and Spotify is to bring football and music together in order to connect with new audiences around the world.

"As both are capable of bringing people together and exciting fans, for the first time, the men's football team will enter the pitch for Sunday's Clasico wearing a jersey featuring the logo of an internationally acclaimed artist – rapper and singer Drake, winner of 4 Grammy awards and the first to surpass 50 billion streams on Spotify – rather than their main partner's logo.

"So, on October 16, instead of seeing the world's most popular audio streaming subscription service logo on the front of the Barca jersey, those watching the game against Real Madrid will see the silhouette of an owl - the logo of the Canadian singer's brand.

"Spotify has given this privileged space on the jersey as part of the framework of the partnership with the Club, just one of the actions that both brands are putting into place to offer innovative experiences for football fans, as well as helping to reach new audiences through music.

"As was announced when the agreement was ratified, this type of exchange on the front of the jersey is scheduled to happen more as the season progresses."

Ahead of this weekend's games, the Canadian rapper decided to throw down a hefty amount of cash [£745,000] on league leaders Arsenal to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League ladder with a win against Leeds.

And they did just that after a goal from Bukayo Saka sealed a 1-0 win.

Unfortunately for Drake, though, he also put Barca down to win against Los Blancos, who picked up a 3-1 victory thanks to goals from Karim Benzema, Federico Valverde and Rodrygo.

To think; Drake would have walked away with a prize pot of $2.8 million if Arsenal and Barca had won. What could have been, ey.

Here is a screenshot of the 'Stake' betting slip from his Instagram earlier. He captioned the post: "This morning should be fun…"

Drake is known to enjoy a flutter. Back in July, he placed a $2.3 million (£1.9 million) bet on the UFC London card, where he lumped on Liverpool pair Molly McCann and Paddy Pimblett to win.

And he also put a $1 million on middleweight champion Israel Adesanya beating Jared Cannonier and once again, he earned a healthy sum from his gamble.

That being said, Drake did lose $275,000 on the UFC 272 main event earlier this year.
