‘Rice Rice Baby’ fever took the nation by storm last summer, and now, ahead of this winter’s tournament, Declan Rice seems keen for a repeat…judging by his latest TikTok.
Rice has been instrumental in previous tournaments for both club and country and has been the engine room of the nation’s midfield.
The 23-year-old soon became a fan favourite after making his international debut back in 2019, and it wasn’t long before Vanilla Ice’s ‘Ice Ice Baby’ song had a version dedicated to the midfielder, thanks to fans.
Since then, Rice has been a mainstay in midfield, having represented his country 34 times heading into this winter’s tournament, while also taking over the captaincy for his club side from Mark Noble in the summer.
It’s clear to see the skipper endorses the chant too, having taken the internet by storm when he sung it himself during a Twitter ‘Sing Your Dialect’ Takeover last year.
Ahead of the biggest tournament of the year, the footballer has linked up with Müller to bring the chant to even more prominence, and who knows, we could be having another chant reach No.1 in the UK music charts, if Rice can help his country to glory this winter.
The midfielder couldn’t do the chant all on his own though, and he enlisted the help of his three nephews during the TikTok, where he also showcased some of his dancing ‘skills’.
Rice will be hoping to play a crucial role for his team this winter, and you can imagine the scenes of ‘Rice Rice Baby’ being sung around the country if the midfielder and his teammates can win the tournament.
We’re asking you to create your own ‘Rice Rice Baby’ chant, whether that’s just with your family and friends or even getting your pets to bark, meow or dance along, and who knows…maybe even Declan Rice will be dueting with you on TikTok soon!
