Cristiano Ronaldo's Teammate Hints That Manchester United Star Enjoys Cheat Meals Outside Of Strict Diet

Cristiano Ronaldo's Teammate Hints That Manchester United Star Enjoys Cheat Meals Outside Of Strict Diet

Jose Fonte revealed that he and his teammates "always have a look" at what Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo is eating for his meal.

Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has occasionally broken his “rule” of eating nice and clean with a strict diet and indulged in cheat meals.

That is according to Portugal teammate Jose Fonte, who admitted that Ronaldo’s diet has had a knock-on influence on the players around him.

Ronaldo’s incredible fitness and body maintenance have allowed him to continue performing at an extremely high level.

The 36-year-old Portuguese superstar is well known for his cleaning eating habits, not to mention his snub of Euro 2020 sponsors Coca-Cola in the summer.

Fonte, who lifted the Nations League and 2016 European Championship with Ronaldo, insisted that the Portugal captain regularly sticks with the “healthy stuff.”

When asked if Ronaldo’s eating habits influence those around him, the Lille defender told talkSPORT: “One hundred per cent. We always have a look at what he’s eating and what he’s doing.

“You know he’s the best and you want to replicate what he’s doing because he must be doing something right.

“Obviously as a rule he eats nice and clean, you know the nice quinoas and all this healthy stuff… A lot of eggs, sweet potatoes, the broccoli, he’s into that.”

However, Fonte revealed that Ronaldo isn’t shy of breaking his own rules and enjoying a cheat meal after matches.

And it would appear that Ronaldo, who left Juventus to return to United in the summer, doesn’t pass up the opportunity to tuck into steak and chips.

Ronaldo has been in excellent form in his second United spell and was named Premier League Player of the Month for September.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has made six appearances for United this season and scored five times.

Lee Grant previously opened up about the huge impact that Ronaldo has had since his blockbuster return to Old Trafford, saying the “mood is fantastic” at the club.

The 38-year-old ‘keeper also echoed Fonte’s remarks by claiming that none of his United teammates “dared” to enjoy an unhealthy snack after observing what Ronaldo had eaten at a pre-match meal.
