Cristiano Ronaldo took a short break from football to try his hand at a new sport - and fans reckon he is the “greatest player of all time” already.

Ronaldo's hectic season, which saw his acrimonious exit from Manchester United in December, ended in disappointment last month after his club Al-Nassr missed out on the league title.

The Portuguese superstar was rested during last Wednesday's 3-0 win win over Al Fateh, with a second-placed finish confirmed in the Saudi Professional League.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo has been afforded a post-season trip to Asia where he visited Singapore to promote a number of charity initiatives.

During his time there, the 38-year-old took part in a game of Padel tennis, widely recognised as the fastest growing sport in Europe.

The former Real Madrid star was cheered on by youngsters surrounding the court and later posted a snap of himself in action accompanied by the caption: “Coming soon to Asia @primepadelsport - thanks for the rally!"

Ronaldo, who has scored 14 goals in 16 appearances for Al Nassr this season, looked just as comfortable with a racquet in his hand as with a ball at his feet.

Footage of him playing quickly went viral, with fans labelling him the new GOAT of Padel.

One fan commented: “This is why Cristiano Ronaldo is the greatest Padel tennis player of all time.”

Another said: “My goat, even the best at padel.”

While a third fan wrote: “The GOAT Shines in everything he puts his mind to. Yeah!!! the best in the world.”

Ronaldo recently confirmed that he will be staying in Saudi Arabia despite speculation that he could return to Madrid or join up with German giants Bayern Munich.

“I am happy here, I want to continue here, I will continue here", Ronaldo said in a statement.

“And in my opinion if they continue to do the work that they want to do here, for the next five years, I think the Saudi League can be a top five league in the world.

“I will be part of your world, your culture, I will be here, I hope I make the people enjoy through my games, my performance, and to win things, but again, thank you for welcoming me, and I will try to give my best during the time that I will be here.”
