Cristiano Ronaldo has been 'offered' a transfer away from Manchester United if they don't want him - to fellow Premier League outfit Wolves.

United welcome Wolves to Old Trafford on Monday evening as they look to close the gap on Arsenal in fourth place.

Ronaldo has scored 14 goals in 20 games since returning to United but many have questioned if he's actually having a negative impact on the team.

It's something Wolves manager Bruno Lage has laughed off and he's even said there's a place at Molineux for 'CR7' should he want it.

"He’s a machine," Lage admitted per the Mirror.

"He just wants to score and score and score. He lives for that. He’s a massive player and every team in the world would want him.

"It’s football and everyone has an opinion. But if United aren’t happy with him then I have a place for him here, but I know they are happy with him.

"He started playing at the top level very young and he’s just continued at the same level."

Ronaldo scored the third from close range in United's 3-1 win over Burnley on Thursday evening to stay unbeaten under interim manager Ralf Rangnick.

While Ronaldo won't be leaving in January, a number of players are said to be on the chopping block.

Anthony Martial has already expressed his desire to leave the club on loan in search of first-team action, with United rejecting a move from Sevilla already.

Juan Mata has been linked with a return to Spain while the futures of Donny van de Beek and Dean Henderson are said to be up in the air.

United have been linked with a number of moves in January already but Rangnick is comfortable with his current squad.

He said on Thursday: "My focus is on the current players.

"We have enough players in the squad, there is no lack of players.

"Transfer in the winter only make sense if they help you and really help the quality. So far we haven’t spoken about that. My focus has been on the current squad."

A move for RB Leipzig midfielder Amadou Haidara has been mooted, in addition to River Plate striker Julian Alvarez.

Do you think Manchester United will make any signings in the January transfer window? What do you think they need?
