Chris Smalling gives post-match interview in fluent Italian, you've got to respect it

Chris Smalling has been praised for speaking fluent Italian in his post-match interview following his heroics against Inter Milan.

Smalling scored AS Roma's winner against Inter on Saturday to record a huge league win.

The English defender headed home his side's winner in the 75th minute.

He was impressive on the pitch and off the pitch as he gave his post-match interview in Italian to the delight of fans online.

Roma shared a clip of Smalling speaking in Italian following their big away win.

One Twitter user wrote: "It's great to see English speakers coming to Serie A and learning to speak Italian."

A second tweeted: "Between Smalling and Tammy I love seeing the English guys come over and learn the language and culture."

A third added: "It shows that he is not only part of the team but of a big family."

Another commented: "Love that Chris does it in Italian, respect."

Smalling isn't the only English star who has delivered an impeccable interview in Italian.

His club colleague Tammy Abraham impressed fans after speaking in Italian.

Not to mention AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori who produced a brilliant post-match interview shortly after his move from Chelsea.

Credit to the English players for learning the language as they ply their trade in Italy's top flight.
