Chelsea fan 'felt so sorry' for Raheem Sterling over moment against Everton, other supporters agree

"I felt so sorry for Sterling there..."

A Chelsea fan felt 'so sorry' for Raheem Sterling during a moment in his debut for the club against Everton.

Sterling started in Chelsea's 1-0 victory over Everton, but failed to mark his competitive bow for his new side with a goal.

That's despite looking positive in the attacking third as evident in a passage of play just before the break.

A video has surfaced of Sterling making a clever run in behind Everton's backline.

However, Jorginho failed to pick him out - instead, going backwards as he played a pass to N'Golo Kante.

The moment between Sterling and Jorginho prompted one Chelsea fan to express sympathy for the England international.

@TheBeardedRauI shared the clip online, accompanied with the caption: "I felt so sorry for Sterling there tbh. KDB would’ve just spotted him."

Other Chelsea fans agreed with the sentiment regarding Sterling's run against Everton.

One tweeted: "I think it’s our main problem."

A second wrote: "No striker can survive at Chelsea at this rate."

A third added: "Werner made those runs most of the times but we always play it safer... I’m tired of these players."

Another commented: "These issues in our midfield creativity department is so worrying and holding us back. Sigh."

The Blues' winning goal eventually came from the spot as Jorginho slotted past Jordan Pickford.

But the lack of creativity in the middle of the park appears to be a problematic area for the club, with supporters making their feelings known.

As for Sterling's old team, Kevin De Bruyne bagged a superb assist as he brilliantly set up Erling Haaland in Manchester City's 2-0 win over West Ham United.
