Chelsea are considering a shock move for Barcelona forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to reports, with discussions already taking place between both clubs.

It's been a busy transfer window for the Blues under new owner Todd Boehly.

Thomas Tuchel's side have already brought in Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly from Manchester City and Napoli respectively for a combined £85 million fee.

Romelu Lukaku's departure in June has resulted in Chelsea being linked with several options in forward areas, including the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jamie Vardy.

And now, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims the Blues are considering Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang as their new striker.

In fact, discussions have already started on the player's side, according to Romano, but a bid has yet to be submitted to Barcelona, who are keen to offload the former Arsenal man.

Aubameyang is keen on remaining a Barcelona player ahead of the upcoming campaign, say The Daily Mail, but the Catalan giants would be willing to cash in to raise funds to register their new signings.

The 33-year-old Gabon international, who played under Thomas Tuchel during his time at Borussia Dortmund, certainly has plenty of Premier League experience.

During his time at Arsenal, he scored 92 goals in 163 appearances and became a fan favourite for large spells of his time at the Emirates.

Todd Boehly, meanwhile, is keen to bring in a left back, right back, centre-back, midfielder and forward to help Tuchel achieve his goals this season.

Last month, the Chelsea owner flew to Barcelona to discuss transfers as midfielder Frenkie de Jong continues to be linked with a big-money move to Stamford Bridge.

Thoughts on Chelsea's moves in the transfer window this summer?

Gary Neville on #Chelsea's new ownership:

"The American guy Boehly looks like he wants to play Football Manager. There's something in him, they're a bit panicky. That pressure is on him."
