Chelsea Have Been Called 'The Most Obvious Match' For Paul Pogba

Pogba is expected to leave Manchester United this summer.

Chelsea have been told they're the most obvious choice for Paul Pogba this summer as they have a 'secret weapon' to get him playing at his best.

Pogba's contract with Manchester United expires this summer and it's expected he'll move on as a free agent.

He's been linked with a return to Juventus in addition to Paris Saint-Germain, but Louis Saha thinks remaining the Premier League would be best for Pogba.

The former United striker thinks Pogba should swap Old Trafford for Stamford Bridge to play alongside France teammate N'Golo Kante.

"Chelsea is the obvious match for Pogba because he loves to play with N’Golo Kante," Saha told Lord Ping.

"We always try to compare what he does with France and United and the ability of Kante makes Pogba play to another dimension and that’s the truth. Only Pogba can indicate where he wants to go, I’m just sad he hasn’t fulfilled his dream."

Pogba and Kante helped France to World Cup glory in 2018 and the latter's energy and defensive contribution allows Pogba to roam further up the pitch.

The 29-year-old's six year spell at United has been underwhelming and he was booed off in his last home appearance, a 3-2 win over Norwich City.

Pogba then limped off early on in April's 4-0 defeat to Liverpool and he's not featured since.

It's believed he's reluctant to play in Sunday's trip to Crystal Palace as he's worried about a hostile reaction from the away end.

Bitter rivals Manchester City made a move to sign Pogba and he agreed personal terms, but eventually turned the move down.

Kante, meanwhile, has one year remaining on his Chelsea contract and the 31-year-old has suffered from injury issues this campaign.

He's started 20 times in the Premier League in 2021/22 and looked a yard off the pace in Thursday's 1-1 draw with Leicester City.

Blues boss Thomas Tuchel is aware of Kante's limitations and admitted it's becoming a 'concern'.

"I think he is our key, key player but key players need to be on the pitch,’ Tuchel admitted post-match.

"He plays only 40 per cent of the games and it’s maybe a miracle we arrive in third place because he is our Mo Salah, he is our Van Dijk, he is our De Bruyne. He is simply that player, he is our Neymar, our Kylian Mbappe.

"He is the guy who makes the difference, if you only have him 40 per cent it’s a huge problem."
