Chelsea Fans Are Furious With 'Leaked' Image Of 22/23 Home Kit

Chelsea Fans Are Furious With 'Leaked' Image Of 22/23 Home Kit

A bold attempt from Nike, but it hasn't gone down well so far.

Images of Chelsea's home kit for the 2022/23 season have leaked online and the design hasn't gone down well at all.

Thomas Tuchel's side are rocking a kit featuring a zig-zag design this campaign and while it was initially met with backlash, it's grown on supporters.

Next season's offering will once again include an abstract pattern, but only on the collar in an interesting twist.

Twitter userย @semihkcecioglu revealed a first look at the shirt and that was soon backed up by the ever-reliable Footy Headlines.

Sportswear giant Nike are going back to a plain royal blue for the shirt's primary colour with the collar white and a lighter shade of blue.

It's currently unconfirmed what the pattern is but it's a massive change-up from the yellow used on this campaign's shirt.

There's also a button on the collar and two lines near the shoulders.

Fans have had their say on social media and it's going to take a lot to win them over this time.

One commented: "No one can convince me that Nike doesnโ€™t hates us, wtf is this?"

Another said: "It's getting worse and worse year after year."

A third added: "Our home kits are always terrible. Who hurt you Nike?"

While someone put: "No way I'm wasting my money on this s**t."

Chelsea are currently away in the United Arab Emirates for the Club World Cup and defeated Al-Hilal 1-0 in their semi-final on Wednesday.

Romelu Lukaku scored the only goal of the game to set up a clash with Brazilian outfit Palmeiras on Saturday.

Al-Hilal did have their chances and the AFC Champions League holders tested Kepa Arrizabalaga in the second half.

"Everyone's very happy Lukaku scored, he fought very hard and tried hard in the game," Chelsea assistant Zsolt Low, who was standing in for Thomas Tuchel due to Covid, told Sky Sports.

"That's why we give him the chance all the time. We hoped for a bit of luck to score today. He's very happy, we're very happy and hope he continues and scores in the final."

The Club World Cup is the only trophy Chelsea have failed to win since Roman Abramovich took over in 2003.

Chelsea's only other appearance in the competition came in 2012 when they lost to Corinthians in the final.
