John Terry ruins Piers Morgan after he mocked Chelsea's transfer window

John Terry has ruined Arsenal fan Piers Morgan after he mocked Chelsea’s transfer window.

In the January window, Chelsea spent an eye-watering amount that totalled more than £320 million.

The Blues spent £88 million on Ukraine star Mykhailo Mudryk and broke the British transfer record after their £106.8 million deal for Argentina’s World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez was confirmed late on Tuesday night.

Despite all their spending, Morgan took the opportunity to remind Chelsea fans that their club are 21 points off league leaders Arsenal.

He wrote on his Twitter account: “Reminder to Chelsea fans: we’re top of the League, you’re 10th, and we’re 21pts ahead of you with a game in hand.

“So spend all the gazillions you want but what you REALLY need to buy is a telescope to look up at Arsenal.”

Chelsea legend Terry then decided to hit back by saying he has won more trophies since retiring than Arsenal have.

The former England captain replied: “You have gone missing for 20 years! And you still have a long way to go… I have won more trophies since I retired playing golf than Arsenal have.”

Of course, Morgan was not going to let this end, he replied with: “Pipe down ‘Tiger’ Terry… it was only 18 years ago that Arsenal went unbeaten in a whole League season (incl stuffing Chelsea, led by you, home & away…).

So the only thing that’s ‘missing’ is the word Invincible’ on your CV….”

Mikel Arteta is hoping to be the first man to bring the Premier League trophy back to Arsenal since Arsene Wenger did so in the 03/04 season.

After a flying start to the 22/23 campaign, the Gunners sit top of the Premier League table with 50 points, five points ahead of second-placed Manchester City, who have played a game more.

Arteta recently spoke about going up against his close friend Pep Guardiola.

He said: “I always hoped that was going to be the case one day and it's happening this season.

“That's not going to change any friendship, the moments that we have, how important he is in my life, how important he is in my profession.

“I would prefer to do it with someone else to be fair.”
