The Champions League best XI from last season has been 'leaked' online ahead of the official unveil.

The best XI has surfaced online from UEFA's technical report - with Liverpool boasting FOUR players in the team.

As well as Real Madrid, who, of course, beat Liverpool in the Champions League final in Paris to claim their 14th European title.

Real stars Karim Benzema, Vinicius Jr, Luka Modric and Thibaut Courtois feature in the best XI.

Benzema starred as he scored an impressive 15 goals in the Champions League last season.

He forged a brilliant partnership with Vinicius Jr, with Modric rolling back the years in midfield.

As for Courtois, he dropped one of the all-time great goalkeeping performances against Liverpool.

From Liverpool, Fabinho, Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold make the XI.

Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe, Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne and Chelsea's Antonio Rudiger (who has since joined Real) complete the best XI.

So, there's no room for the likes of Robert Lewandowski and Mohamed Salah, who scored 13 and 8 Champions League goals respectively.

The Champions League best XI was decided by UEFA's technical committee, which includes the likes of Gareth Southgate, David James, Roberto Martinez and Tim Cahill.

The 2022/23 Champions League campaign will take shape on Thursday when the group stage draw will be announced.

The final is scheduled to take place at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul - the venue famously hosted the 2005 final between AC Milan and Liverpool.
