The top 50 best stadiums in Britain have been named and ranked, with Liverpool's Anfield only ranking third

From England's Wembley and Scotland's Hampden Park to the Ibrox and Celtic Park, the 50 best stadiums in Britain have been named.

Rangers’ Ibrox and Celtic’s Celtic Park have been named the first- and second-best stadiums in Britain respectively ahead of Anfield and Old Trafford.

The two Scottish Premiership clubs have exchanged a heated rivalry at both the Ibrox and Celtic Park during their famous Old Firm derby matches.

FourFourTwo compiled the rankings for the 100 best stadiums in Britain and Rangers’ Ibrox edged out Celtic Park to the top sport.

The football magazine said that three sides of the 50,817-seat stadium are “aesthetically smart” and pointed to its “sheer vibrancy, passion and intensity, on and off the pitch.”

FourFourTwo added that “nothing on these shores compares to the matchday experience at an Old Firm fixture” and is probably only matched by the experience of the Superclasico derby between Boca Juniors and River Plate.

The 60,411-seat Celtic Park finished second, while Liverpool’s world-renowned Anfield stadium took home the No 3 spot in the rankings.

Manchester United’s Old Trafford fell short of clinching the No 4 spot -- having to settle for a fifth-placed position -- with Fulham’s Craven Cottage finishing ahead of it.

Premier League clubs Aston Villa, Tottenham and Newcastle all finished inside the top 10, while Heart of Midlothian was the third Scottish club to make the top 10.

Wembley secured the No 10 spot in the rankings, with the 90,000-capacity stadium “finally [feeling] like a proper home for the England team at Euro 2020.”
