Manchester United fans loved Casemiro offering to take the first penalty in their shootout against Brighton in the FA Cup.

Man United will face Manchester City in the FA Cup final following their dramatic victory over Brighton on Saturday.

After 120 minutes of action, the semi-final showdown headed into a penalty shootout following the stalemate at Wembley Stadium.

And as the teams huddled before the shootout, a video appears to show Erik ten Hag and Steve McClaren asking who wants to take the first spot-kick.

Without hesitation, Casemiro puts his hand up and takes the responsibility of the first kick. His elite mentality paid off as he sent Robert Sanchez the wrong way, calmly converting his penalty.

Needless to say, the Brazilian midfielder's actions leading up to the penalty shootout sent social media wild as Man United fans hailed his mentality.

One Twitter user wrote: "Offered to take the first pen and scored, Casemiro is a f**king leader. We all know the refs target him and I’m sure that knocks his confidence at times too."

A second tweeted: "Talent is one thing but mentality character and leadership is another. Casemiro didn’t hesitate to take the first pen he wanted it!."

A third added: "What I love about Casemiro is his grit. You see it all the time, even in pen shootout, he wants to go first, dig in, take control. Real leader."

A fourth said: "Hasn’t been great lately, but he really is 'the cement between the stones' one of my favorite players of recent years. He gets what it means to play for this club."

Another commented: "We deserve this legend after so many years of suffering."

It wasn't the only thing he done in the penalty shootout as a fan captured his bizarre antics.

Man United's 7-6 shootout victory means they will face off against cross-town rivals Man City on June 3.

Will Ten Hag complete a domestic cup double? Let us know.
