Xabi Alonso produced a great gesture following Bayer Leverkusen's massive win over Bayern Munich on Saturday.

Leverkusen moved five points clear of second-placed Bayern following their 3-0 victory at the BayArena.

Alonso's side remain unbeaten in the Bundesliga, having won 17 of their 21 league fixtures this season.

Josip Stanisic opened the scoring in the 18th minute as he scored against his parent club following his loan transfer last summer.

Alex Grimaldo made it 2-0 in the 50th minute as he smashed home a terrific strike inside the box.

Jeremie Frimpong added a third in stoppage time when he scored into an empty net after Manuel Neuer went up for a corner-kick.

Alonso continues to work his managerial magic and he impressed fans with what he did after the final whistle.

In a classy gesture, the Spaniard didn't want to get honoured by the fans in attendance before getting his entire backroom staff on the pitch.

Fans online praised Alonso's actions and believe he is the real deal.

One X user wrote: "Humble and GOATED. All timer in the making."

A second tweeted: "What a manager is turning out to be, will be in red hot demand in the summer."

A third predicted: "Amazing to see, he's really done a great job. I see him at Old Trafford soon."

Another added:" We need to have a discussion about Pep’s teaching abilities. All of his students are elite.

A fifth commented: "Xabi Alonso is a real definition of a leader. He deserves the league and he will win."

The 42-year-old has been linked with the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Real Madrid following the job he has done at Leverkusen.

He continues to enhance his reputation ahead of potentially landing a huge job this summer.
