Harry Kane was asked whether he has Robert Lewandowski's Bundesliga record in sight following his prolific start to the season.

Kane has wasted no time in settling in Germany following his summer move from Tottenham.

He already has 21 goals to his name this campaign, including 17 league goals in just 11 games.

The England captain's blistering start to the 2023/24 term has fans and critics alike believing he could break Lewandowski's record.

The Pole scored a record-breaking 41 league goals in a single season as he enjoyed an ultra-prolific 2020/21 campaign.

Sources have confirmed what Bayern players at the club think about Kane compared to Lewandowski.

Even though Kane has registered 17 goals in Germany's top flight, he isn't focused on Lewandowski's record.

"Robert is a legend at Bayern and one of the best strikers of our generation. He set the bar so high. It’s too early in the season for me to be talking about specific numbers," he told FourFourTwo. "That’s not where my focus is. Playing well and helping the team is the most important thing, but I’m happy I’ve started well and hope it continues."

Kane left Spurs having scored an incredible 213 goals in the Premier League. He's just 48 goals away from breaking Alan Shearer's all-time Premier League goal-scoring record.

Asked whether he's still thinking about the Newcastle United legend's record, the 30-year-old replied: "No, it’s not on my mind right now. I take each year as it comes and make the best decisions for myself in football. My focus is just on trying to perform here, settling into German life and trying to score as many goals for Bayern Munich as I can."

Kane was also quizzed about a return to the Premier League, adding: "I’m not thinking that far ahead just yet. I’m at Bayern right now and focused on my next game, my next goal. Then it’ll be the one after that."
