Harry Kane speaks out on Luis Diaz 'issue' as he delivers verdict on star forward's Bayern Munich debut

Harry Kane made his feelings clear on Luis Diaz's Bayern Munich debut.

Harry Kane has delivered his verdict on Luis Diaz's Bayern Munich debut as he spoke out on a potential issue for the star winger.

Diaz joined Bayern from Liverpool for £65.5 million and made his debut for his new side on Saturday.

He played the entire second-half as the German giants beat Lyon 2-1, with the Colombian international making an instant impression.

After the game, which was the club's first outing since their Club World Cup campaign, several players fielded questions from the media, including Kane, who was asked about Diaz.

Kane, who stunned fans with his accent during pre-season, hailed Diaz's showing against Lyon and touched on the language barrier considering the 28-year-old's limited English.

He is hoping his new colleague's English and German improves but insists it won't be a problem.

"His English is not too bad. He communicates well with the team," said Kane. "Hopefully his English and maybe his German as well picks up so some of the other players can talk to him as well. But with the coach talking English, I don't think he has a problem."

On Diaz's performance, Kane added: "Luis Díaz did a great job today. We've only had a couple of training sessions together so far, but he seems hungry and lively. You can tell he's happy to be here. He's playing with a smile on his face. Today you could see how effective he is in the final third, and we'll need him this season - so I'm delighted he's here."

Joshua Kimmich, who is one of the senior figures within the dressing room, was also asked about Diaz's integration with the Bayern squad.

"We have a few guys who can speak a bit of Spanish," he explained. "His English is also okay. So we're managing that as a team."

Diaz, who helped Liverpool to Premier League glory last season, had notable difficulties with speaking English during his spell at Anfield.

And he faces a similar issue at Bayern, with most of his new teammates speaking English or German.
