Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard paid tribute to rapper Takeoff after opening the scoring in Tuesday's 2-0 win over Inter Milan.

Takeoff, one-third of the popular rap group Migos, was shot dead in Houston, Texas in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Houston Police confirmed a victim was dead upon their arrival, with two others injured and take to hospital with injuries.

Migos, made up of Takeoff, Quavo and Offset, helped popularise the 'dab' dance move with the release of their 2015 hit 'Look At My Dab'.

Bayern welcomed Inter to the Allianz Arena in their final Champions League Group E game having already secured top spot.

Pavard opened the scoring just past the half hour mark with a lovely header. The World Cup winner hit a knee slide in the corner, before slowly dabbing as his teammates ran over to celebrate.

It was a touch of class from the 26-year-old, who registered his second goal of the season.

Fans on social media have reacted to the gesture and they think it was a brilliant show of respect.

One person said: "That was the perfect tribute from Pavard."

Another put: "I wondered why he did that celebration, it makes sense now."

A third tweeted: "Even if he plays for Bayern I have to say fair play."

While someone said: "Of all the players to do this I wouldn't expect Pavard."

Bayern knew victory would see them become the first team in Champions League history to win six group games out of six, two years in a row.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting secured all three points in the second half with an outrageous effort from outside the area.

Choupo-Moting rifled his right-footed effort past Andre Onana to score his sixth goal in as many games.

Bayern manager Julian Nagelsmann told reporters post-match: "It's was a very good and mature performance. The players who didn't play much before today did very well.

"In the end we had a very young team on the pitch. It's a good feeling as a coach to know you can change without losing quality.

"We played a very good group stage, but that won't mean anything if we don't do well in the knockout phase. We have to go further than last year. With the current spirit in the team, I'm confident."

Bayern are currently second in the Bundesliga, one point behind surprise package Union Berlin.

They return to action against Hertha Berlin on Saturday afternoon.
