Man Utd could hijack 'Arsenal's bid to sign Real Madrid star Aurelien Tchouameni'

Man Utd could hijack 'Arsenal's bid to sign Real Madrid star Aurelien Tchouameni'

Tchouameni has been rumoured with a move away from the Bernabeu this summer.

Manchester United are trying to hijack Arsenal's move for Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, it has been claimed.

The Gunners are closing in on a deal for for Declan Rice after agreeing a £105million transfer fee with West Ham.

Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta has already completed the £65m signing of Kai Havertz from Chelsea, with the Germany international set to become the club's highest earner.

Jurrien Timber is also in the pipeline, with the Ajax defender on the verge of joining Arsenal for a £40m fee, including £4m in add-ons.

But the north London club aren't finished there, with Tchouameni another name on Arteta's shortlist, according to a sensational report from FootballTransfers.

Real Madrid signed the 23-year-old French midfielder for £85m from Monaco last season, beating the likes of United and Liverpool to his signature.

But Tchouameni has struggled to to stamp his mark on Carlo Ancelotti's team since his moved and could be available this summer following the recent arrival of Jude Bellingham at the Bernabeu.

United have since arrived on the scene, though, and could hijack the Gunners' plans.

Man Utd enter race for Tchouameni

Croatian outlet Nacional claim that the Red Devils are keen to reignite their pursuit of Tchouameni.

The report adds that Erik ten Hag "is pressing" the club to seal a deal for the France international. However, the Dutchman is working with limited resources.

United are on the brink of completing the signing of Mason Mount from Chelsea this week after the two clubs agreed a £60m fee.

But that would leave Ten Hag with less than half of his reported £100m transfer budget, enforced through Financial Fair Play regulations. Meanwhile, the Old Trafford club have their sights set on a new striker and goalkeeper.
