Wilfried Zaha 'seriously considering' snubbing Arsenal after being offered club-record Crystal Palace contract

Wilfried Zaha 'seriously considering' snubbing Arsenal after being offered club-record Crystal Palace contract

It's a huge statement of intent from Palace.

Arsenal target Wilfried Zaha is “seriously considering” committing his long-term future to Crystal Palace, according to a fresh report.

A 3-0 defeat to Brighton has all but confirmed Arsenal’s fate as Premier League runners-up this season.

Mikel Arteta’s side now languish four points behind Manchester City, having played a game more.

Arsenal are determined to continue their upward trajectory into next term however, and have been linked with several summer transfers to boost their title credentials.

While Declan Rice is thought to be the Gunners’ priority target, they have also been linked with the likes of Marc Guehi, Moussa Diaby and Zaha.

An approach for the latter could be scuppered however, should recent reports be believed.

Zaha “considering” committing to Crystal Palace

According to TalkSPORT Zaha is “seriously considering” staying at Palace, having been offered an enormous contract by the club.

The Ivorian international, who came through the ranks at Selhurst Park, has allegedly been offered a four year deal worth around £200,000-a-week.

Should he put pen to paper on the contract, the 30-year-old will become the highest paid player in the south London club’s history.

Zaha, who is widely considered by the Palace fanbase as the club’s greatest ever player, is coming to end of a five-year deal on June 30.

Amid interest from Premier League club’s and sides across the continent, it remains uncertain whether Zaha will say goodbye to the club he joined as an 11-year-old to realise his dream of competing in Europe, or sign fresh terms with the Eagles.

While devastating as ever when fit, Zaha has began to suffer niggling injuries this campaign, having even been forced off in Palace’s 2-0 victory over Bournemouth on Saturday.

Given he’s already misses nine league games this campaign, and turns 31 in November, suitors may be put off by the potential of future fitness worries.
