Arsenal plot move for €120 million midfielder after contacting agent, he would be the ideal signing

Arsenal have reportedly contacted the agent of Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic as they look for an alternative to Youri Tielemans.

Arsenal have reportedly contacted the agent of Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic as they look for an alternative to Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with signing Tielemans since the summer, when they had a bid rejected by Leicester for his services.

Now, however, the Belgium international is available as a free agent at the end of the season, with his deal expiring this summer.

The 25-year-old is able to discuss a pre-contract agreement with European clubs now the January transfer window is opened.

However, football.london reported earlier this week that the Gunners were not looking to complete a move for the midfielder in January, meaning he could now move elsewhere.

Arsenal have assigned Mykhaylo Mudryk as their priority target, while they are also keen on completing a loan deal for Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix.

Meanwhile, they are still on the lookout for a midfielder, with Mikel Arteta keen to add more depth to his squad. And according to reports in Italy, they may have found the ideal signing.

Arsenal 'contact agent' of Milinkovic-Savic

As per Italian outlet Correire dello Sport, Arsenal have made contact with the agent of Lazio's Milinkovic-Savic as they eye a summer move for the Serbia international.

They say that an exit for the midfielder is 'looking increasingly likely', although it is claimed that another Premier League club is interested in signing the player.

Milinkovic-Savic's agent is former Chelsea striker Mateja Kezman, who received 49 caps for the Serbia and Montenegro national team during his career.

The player has reportedly been on Arsenal's radar for several months, with Calciomercato claiming in October that the Gunners had put forward a swap deal worth €50-60 million and Albert Sambi Lokonga moving the other way.

But Lazio president Claudio Lotito has not given up on keeping the 27-year-old at his current club, and last month named the eye-watering price tag they have placed on his head.

He said (quotes via Manchester Evening News): "I have no agreement with his agent Kezman to sell him to Juventus or anyone else in the winter.

"On the contrary, he is now worth €120m [£105m], not €100m [£88m]. Every month the price goes up."
