"If there's space..." - Hollywood star wants to invest in Arsenal

"If there's space..." - Hollywood star wants to invest in Arsenal

It could happen.

Hollywood actress Reece Witherspoon has revealed her desire to invest in Arsenal, with the 46-year-old a huge fan of the club.

The star of Legally Blonde expressed her love of the Gunners on Monday night's The One Show, a passion she shares with her sons.

Should she invest, Witherspoon would be following in the footsteps of 'Creed' star Michael B Jordan, who was part of the consortium that recently purchased Bournemouth.

Meanwhile, star of Deadpool Ryan Reynolds bought out Wrexham alongside writer and actor Rob McElhenney, in an infamous takeover which has turned heads around the world.

And Witherspoon's business venture doesn't seem beyond the realms of reality. She was named by Forbes magazine as the wealthiest actress in the world in 2021, with a net worth of $400million (£323m).

Reece Witherspoon hints at Arsenal investment

When asked if she'd consider investing in a British club, she told the One Show: "If there's space in Arsenal, all my sons and everybody would be really excited because that's our home team.

"That's our favourite team. We watched the game the other day. It was bananas! That's our team."

Host Jermaine Jenas, who previously played for Tottenham jokingly replied: "You've literally picked my rivals."

Witherspoon added: "I'm probably going to really wreck myself here, too, because there are people out there who are not Arsenal fans! I also like PSG."

Jenas responded: "Go with PSG instead please, Reese, that'd much more friendly."

Kutcher also admitted he was a football fan and revealed he was 'very close' to investing in a club last month.

He stated: "I’m a big United States soccer fan. But I do watch Premier League and I actually came very close to investing in a Premier League team in the last month."
