Arsenal set to call up 'outrageous' 16-year-old sensation for Dubai training camp - he could be a future star

Arsenal are reportedly set to call up a 16-year-old - already playing for the U21 squad - for the Dubai Super Cup training camp.

Arsenal are gearing up to travel to Dubai for the Dubai Super Cup next month - and they are set to take one of their top young stars with them for the training camp, according to new reports.

The Gunners, alongside Liverpool, AC Milan and Lyon, will play in the newly-founded tournament in December.

It is designed to maintain the match fitness of players not at the World Cup prior to the resumption of football in European leagues.

Arsenal have 10 players set to feature in Qatar, with the likes of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus and Granit Xhaka all hoping for successful tournaments.

But there a number of high-profile players left behind, with Martin Odegaard (Norway), Kieran Tierney (Scotland) and Oleksandr Zinchenko (Ukraine) all still in England due to their nations not qualifying for the World Cup.

They will be amongst the players, fitness permitting, set to travel out to Dubai. There will also be a number of less well-known names joining them - and one player has impressed hugely at youth level and is set to be given a chance to shine.

Arsenal sensation set for Dubai tour

With some of the club's top stars in Qatar, opportunities will open up for the club's younger players desperate to impress boss Mikel Arteta and the Gunners hierarchy.

One of those names is Myles Lewis-Skelly, with reports claiming that the youngster is going to Dubai with the senior squad.

Arsenal Youth report that the midfielder, who is only 16 years of age, has already been fast-tracked through the club's academy system, and is now set to take another step in his career.

Lewis-Skelly is an England U17 international, and has already made three appearances for the Gunners' U21 side.

But some Gunners fans may know the midfielder for a viral video posted by the 'Rising Ballers' Instagram account in September.

The video shows Lewis-Skelly picking the ball up in deep areas on numerous occasions, before using his agility and pace to power away from opposing players, carrying the ball forward and laying the ball off to team-mates.

He was described as 'outrageous' by one fan after the video.

The left-footed midfielder is also versatile, playing as a left-back in his first U21s start against Stoke on Saturday.

Arsenal Youth also claim that he has been involved in first team training sessions recently, and as one of the most highly-promising youngsters at the Hale End academy, will be hoping to impress Arteta further in Dubai.
