"Stop lying to the world..." – Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun sent brutal message by manager

"Stop lying to the world..." – Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun sent brutal message by manager

He did not hold back.

Arsenal loanee Folarin Balogun has been told to "stop lying to the world" by his manager Will Still.

Balogun has blossomed into one of the most exciting prospects in Europe following a hugely successful loan spell at Reims.

The 21-year-old has scored 18 goals in all competitions this term, with no other player aged 21 or under having scored as many across Europe’s top five leagues.

Despite his prolific form, Balogun's future is currently up in the air, and he is set to return to Arsenal at the end of the season where he will determine his next step.

In the meantime, the striker has developed a strong bond with Reims manager Still, who has also made a name for himself this season.

Still shares joke with Balogun

Still has relied on Balogun for almost half of Reims' goals this season and the pair clearly have a good relationship, judging by a recent interaction on social media.

The Gunners loanee posted a picture of himself and his teammates on Instagram, accompanied by the the caption: “Back to work n back amongst the wins!”

Still teasingly replied: “You literally never win.. stop lying to the world.”

Arsenal released a video recently detailing Balogun's life in France, in which the player discussed his relationship with Still, believing the manager has brought out a different side to him.

"Every now and then, sometimes he [Still] gets under my skin," said Balogun.

"I want to shut him up and I need to put the ball in the net, so I think it's brought out a good side to me. I appreciate my relationship with him."

Still also lifted the lid on what Balogun is like around the training ground.

He's a quiet kit," Still explained. "But when he does talk up and when he does say things he's got a brain.

"His banter is pretty good," the Englishman joked.
