Turkish wonderkid Arda Guler was seen wiping tears away from his mum’s face during his unveiling at Real Madrid.

On Thursday, Madrid announced the signing of Guler, their statement read: “Real Madrid C. F. and Fenerbahçe SK have agreed the transfer of Arda Güler, who signs a deal with our club for the next six seasons.

“Tomorrow, on Friday 7 July at 12:00, Arda Güler will be unveiled as a new Real Madrid player at Real Madrid City. Following his presentation, Arda Güler will speak to the press.”

During his unveiling, he was seen wiping away his mum’s tears. You can watch the footage below.

The 18-year-old rocketed to the spotlight after a string of impressive performances at Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce.

As a result of his performances, he has been dubbed the ‘Turkish Messi’.

After scoring six goals in 35 appearances for Fenerbahce last season, he was linked with the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Newcastle before sealing a move to Madrid.

During his presentation in front of the media, the Turkish youngster said: “I want to become a Real Madrid legend.”

Whilst club president Florentino Perez said: “Thank you for choosing Real Madrid to build your story. At just 18 years old you fulfill one of your big dreams.”

Guler will wear the number 24 shirt for the 23/24 season.

The 18-year-old becomes the second big signing of the summer for Madrid after they secured the signature of Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund last month.

The Bernabeu club have also signed Joselu on loan and Rayo Vallecano defender Fran Garcia, for a reported fee of €5 million.

Madrid will be hoping the 23/24 season is more successful after a largely disappointing 22/23 campaign. Carlo Ancelotti's men were beaten to the La Liga title by arch-rivals Barcelona, whilst their Champions League defence was shattered by a rampant City side led by Pep Guardiola.
