Arsenal captain Alexandre Lacazette nearly went into another dimension after being shoved by Aston Villa's John McGinn.

Things got very spicy in Arsenal's 1-0 win away at Villa, with plenty of tackles flying in and a bit of afters to go with it.

At one point, Arsenal players were surrounding the referee following a challenge from Tyrone Mings on Bukayo Saka.

McGinn, from out of nowhere, gave the Frenchman a big old push and he ended up a few yards away, on his back and with his legs up in the air as if he'd just been on the receiving end of a Batista Bomb.

The clip went viral on social media, with fans loving the exaggerated fall.

McGinn has sent Lacazette halfway back to London there.

But at the same time, plenty of Arsenal were furious that McGinn was not punished for his shove.

McGinn pushed Lacazette to the ground in that melee and should not have been on the pitch...escaped with just a yellow.
Xhaka did nothing to Buendia and yet he gets carded.
Make it make sense

Honestly, am arsenal player touches an opponent and is always sent off for ‘raising hands’. McGinn bodies Lacazette there, nothing to see

— Jonny Singer (@Jonny_Singer) March 19, 2022

Are we not gunna talk about the fact McGinn has just launched Lacazette into another dimension?? Get him off man 😤 #ASTARS

— Laura Peacock (@littleepea_) March 19, 2022

Why has McGinn got away with pushing over Lacazette??

— Mason (@TL_Mason) March 19, 2022

McGinn no yellow for sending Lacazette back to France with that push??? #AVLARS ☠️

— IKCF 🫀 (@zach_verdon) March 19, 2022

How has McGinn escaped a booking after pushing Lacazette over??

— Met. (@AFCMet) March 19, 2022

Mcginn literally ran and pushed lacazette but got a yellow. Crazy

After losing 2-0 to Liverpool at home on Wednesday, Arsenal bounced back with a crucial win in the Midlands thanks to Saka's first half strike.

It's now five away wins in a row for Mikel Arteta's side, who occupy the final Champions League spot and are four points clear of Manchester United with a game in hand.
