Aaron Ramsdale produced an insane performance for Arsenal in the thrilling 2-2 draw with Liverpool at Anfield.

Aaron Ramsdale produced an insane goalkeeping performance for Arsenal in the pulsating 2-2 draw with Liverpool at Anfield.

The league leaders were out of the traps early and led 2-0 thanks to strikes from Brazilian duo Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus in the first half.

Mo Salah pulled one back at the end of the first 45 minutes but put a second consecutive penalty wide of the mark when Diogo Jota was brought down by Rob Holding inside the box.

Roberto Firmino came off the bench to equalise late on but Liverpool had huge chances at the death, with Ramsdale in inspired form.

The England shotstopper made an outrageous stop to touch a deflected curling Salah effort past the post, and somehow prevented Ibrahima Konate from scoring when he was free about two yards out.

He displayed incredible reactions to dive across his goal and keep out what looked like a certain goal.

It brought collective gasps from both Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville in the commentary box, who reacted exactly like we all did watching from our sofas.

He had earlier denied Darwin Nunez one-on-one, rightly winning the Man of the Match award and solidifying his place as one of the very best in the business.

There was huge praise from Ramsdale's performance from fans on social media, with so many hailing the former Bournemouth and Sheffield United man.

One said: "Two world class saves from Aaron Ramsdale... absolutely crucial for Arsenal's season."

Another commented: "Aaron Ramsdale with the save of the season. Who knows that could have just won us the title!"

A third added: "Aaron Ramsdale appreciation post. You earned us a point at a hostile ground."

Another concurred: "Aaron Ramsdale today. World class. So many huge stops. He deserved the three points."

A final user opined: If Arsenal win the league, it’s because of Aaron Ramsdale. Ridiculously clutch all season."

Arsenal are six points clear of Manchester City at the top but Pep Guardiola's side have a game in hand and also host the Gunners in a monumental encounter later this month.
