Next Tottenham Hotspur Manager Odds And Favourites As Mauricio Pochettino In Talks Over Return

Rumours are rife that Mauricio Pochettino could make a sensational return to Tottenham Hotspur, with the Argentine now the red hot favourite to do so.
Pochettino is reportedly in talks with Spurs over a return to the north London club that would see him leave Paris Saint-Germain after less than six months in charge.
Inter Milan head coach Antonio Conte has been another name thrown into the hat, too, with the Italian also a frontrunner for the vacant head coach position at Real Madrid.

Pochettino led Spurs in two close-run campaigns for the Premier League title and the Champions League final before he was dismissed in November 2019.
Since joining PSG, Poch has won the French Super Cup and the Coupe de France, but lost in the Champions League semi-finals to Manchester City.
The Argentine could only watch on as Lille claimed the Ligue 1 title for only the second time in nine seasons.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has now opened talks with his former compatriot, who is "attracted" to the idea of a Tottenham homecoming, according to The Athletic.
But it could be a tricky one to pull off with the 49-year-old's contract running until June 2022 and PSG hesitant to appoint yet another new boss.

Julian Nagelsmann, Tottenham's original first-choice target, snubbed Levy's advances and joined Bayern Munich before Ajax's Erik Ten Hag penned a contract extension in Amsterdam.
Meanwhile, Nuno Espirito Santo and Maurizio Sarri have also been considered favourites by the bookies in the five weeks since Jose Mourinho's departure.
However, their odds have since drifted with Pochettino and Conte the frontrunners for the job.
Mauricio Pochettino (10/11)
There will be no doubt who the fans would prefer, with Pochettino holding a fond place in the heart of all Spurs fans after guiding them to the Champions League final in 2018/19.
Spurs have regressed further since his departure, with Jose Mourinho struggling to get the best out of a talented side before Ryan Mason took interim charge to end the 2020/21 season.

Antonio Conte (7/2)
When Antonio Conte left Inter Milan by mutual consent earlier this week, it sparked links with the Tottenham job.
The former Chelsea boss agreed to leave Inter, despite winning the Serie A title in recent weeks, ending nine years of Juventus division dominance.
Naturally, the fiery Italian has emerged as a favourite to fill the vacancy, while the club continues to look for a successor to Mourinho.

Erik Ten Hag (7/1)
Tottenham Hotspur are still looking to formally select their next managerial appointment and it's believed that Erik ten Hag is still in the running.
That's according to The Athletic, who claims the 51-year-old is a leading contender for the Spurs job, despite signing a new two-year contract at his current club, Ajax.

Roberto Martínez (7/1)
Despite the bookies listing Roberto Martinez as one of the favoured candidates, the Belgium boss is not a current candidate for the vacant managerial position, it is understood.
The Spaniard, who has managed Wigan and Everton in the Premier League was said to be on the club's shortlist to replace Mourinho.
However, it is understood there are no plans for talks between the two parties and he is not currently considered a candidate.
