Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has claimed that he is working on rebuilding the Real Madrid squad with 'the best players in the world'.
Madrid have long been linked with a move for Kylian Mbappe, and with the PSG forward yet to agree a new contract with the French club, his current contract is set to expire in the summer of 2022.
Perez's side are going through a transitional period. After prolonged success under Zinedine Zidane in both the Champions League and domestically, an ageing squad with the likes of Sergio Ramos leaving means moves will be required to keep up across all of Europe.

The Spanish giants have become well-known for their big money signings for decades, with Perez now looking to create his next generation of Galacticos.
"Mbappe? He's not a Real Madrid player so I cannot talk about him," Perez said to reports when quizzed about a move for the French star.
"I know what the fans want. We are working on a rebuild."

But in classic Perez fashion, he went on to remind everyone of his pedigree in acquiring the "best players in the world" to the club, which Mbappe clearly is among.
"You all know who I am. You know what I can do. The people trust me because they know what I can do. They know I bring the best players in the world."
So, translated that's "I cant't talk about him" but "you know me". We hear your Florentino.
As well as Mbappe, Real Madrid have also been linked with Erling Haaland, who has quickly become one of the most highly-valued strikers in the world at Borussia Dortmund.
"Mbappe is a PSG player and that must be respected, you know I cannot talk about him. I won't talk about Mbappe and Haaland."

Moves for either Mbappe or Haaland would certainly be in excess of £120m, but even in these times Madrid and Perez typically find a way to get what they want.
