Formula One fans are not happy with Red Bull driver Yuki Tsunoda after hearing his comments about Max Verstappen's car.

After a three week break, F1 will return this weekend for the Belgian Grand Prix in the beloved Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps.

With the summer break taking place after next weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix, fans are eager to watch every second of content going into Spa.

One of the major stories heading into the race will be regarding Red Bull star Verstappen, amid rumours he could leave the F1 team following the sacking of team principal Christian Horner.

But ahead of Verstappen's weekend getting underway, some fans have hit out at Red Bull after hearing what his teammate, Tsunoda, said about the Dutchman's car.

Just three races into the 2025 season, Tsunoda replaced Liam Lawson as the second driver at Red Bull Racing.

However, the Japanese driver has struggled to reach the performances expected of him as Verstappen's teammate, leading to mounting pressure regarding his future in the Red Bull seat going into a summer break.

And things are only going to get worse for the 25-year-old, as he confirmed to the media ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix that he will not be given the upgrades that Red Bull have implemented into his teammate's car this weekend.

Speaking ahead of the first practice sessions on Friday, Tsunoda said: "I was told yesterday that we will not be using these new features.

"I have a tough task ahead of me, given the density of the results. In such a situation, every little thing matters, but I will do my best."

Once news of Red Bull's decision not to upgrade Tsunoda's car ahead of what could be the most important race of his career became public, fans immediately took to social media to criticise Red Bull for the decision.

Reacting to Tsunoda's statement, one F1 fan wrote on X: "Show some respect for the 2nd driver as well Red Bull Racing."

While one asked: "Aren’t the two cars each team has suppose to be the same?"

And one outraged fan wrote: "So Yuki is given an older car, while Max significantly better one. Then people start shouting that Yuki is inferior to Max. That’s how you’ve been ruining second driver since Checo."

Who could replace Yuki Tsunoda if he loses his seat at Red Bull?

Following the dismissal of Horner, former Racing Bulls team principal Laurent Mekies was promoted to lead Red Bull Racing going forward.

With that in mind, some reports have suggested that Mekies could decide to demote Tsunoda back down to Racing Bulls during the summer break should he fail to impress in Belgium.

If he were to do this, it is widely expected that current Racing Bulls star Isack Hadjar would take the second Red Bull seat after the Frenchman has continued to impress during his rookie season.

Speaking about Mekies' promotion, Hadjar recently said: "I'm not going to lie, it could be useful. But we'll see - there are still 12 races left. I have to keep pushing."
