One of Red Bull's teams have fired a dig at McLaren after both Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri were disqualified from the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Norris and Piastri finished second and fourth on track in Vegas, but were both disqualified due to excessive plank wear on the underfloor of each car.

The FIA imposes a post-race 9mm limit when measuring plank wear, with Norris' car under the limit by 0.12mm on the front-right and 0.07mm on the rear-right.

Piastri's breach was even more definitive, as he breached by 0.26mm and 0.1mm on the right, and 0.04mm on the left-front.

The double disqualification was of significant benefit to Red Bull's Max Verstappen, who won the race and has now reduced Norris' advantage at the top of the Drivers' Championship to 24 points with two Grands Prix and a sprint race remaining.

Norris will win the title in Qatar should he finish ahead of Verstappen and his McLaren team-mate Piastri - who have the same amount of points - during both the sprint and the Grand Prix itself, but the Red Bull driver still has hope of winning his fifth consecutive title.

Red Bull's sim racing team, which competes in esports events on the official F1 video game, has now aimed a light-hearted dig at their rivals in an Instagram video.

In the video, the team navigates to the in-game setup screen before increasing the values of front and rear ride height.

Higher ride height levels means lower plank wear - with Ferrari suffering from the issue throughout the 2025 season.

They were forced to increase the car's ride height during practice for the season-opening Australian Grand Prix after spotting they had the potential of exceeding plank wear limits.

Both Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton were disqualified from the Chinese Grand Prix, with the two drivers instructed to lift and coast throughout the majority of most other races since then - significantly affecting their performance levels.
