Oscar Piastri has reportedly cost McLaren a huge amount of money during the 2025 Formula 1 season.
In the early parts of the 2025 season, it became clear that McLaren drivers Piastri and Lando Norris would play a key part in the title.
Ahead of the summer break, Piastri had a lead of over 100 points to Max Verstappen, who was desperately trying to keep within touching distance of the McLaren pair.
However, since the Dutch Grand Prix in late August, Piastri has endured a disastrous run of form.

The Australian has failed to win a race, allowing teammate Norris to take control of the title race and also letting Verstappen back in.
After accidents in Baku, Austin and Brazil, Piastri now trails Norris by 24 points with just three races left to run.
Meanwhile, Verstappen is only 25 points adrift of the Australian.

Recently, it was reported by The Sun that Piastri has cost McLaren around £1.4 million through damages done to his car.
Although it is a lot of money, Piastri only ranked seventh in the list of top 10 drivers who cost their team the most money in damages.
Piastri's teammate Norris was much higher on the list as he placed third with damages totalling £2 million. The Brit had high-profile accidents in Saudi Arabia and Canada.
The top 'destroyer' of the 2025 season so far is Stake F1 Team rookie Gabriel Bortoleto, who has racked him a bill of £2.7 million.
The Brazilian recently suffered a horrific crash during the sprint race at Interlagos.
Red Bull's Yuki Tsunoda came next, with the Japanese costing his team £2.5 million over the course of the 2025 campaign.
Tsunoda has struggled since replacing Liam Lawson, and his future on the grid remains uncertain ahead of 2026.
The likes of Lance Stroll, Charles Leclerc and Isack Hadjar also featured on the list.
