
A motor racing driver who was tipped for Formula 1 has reportedly confessed to stabbing his father to death.
As per a report by the Daily Mirror, 23-year-old Antolin Gonzalez has claimed that he 'unintentionally stabbed his father, also named Antolin Gonzalez'.
It has been suggested that Gonzalez snr was stabbed in the neck during a row involving the family.
The incident reportedly happened in the town of Aranda del Duero in Spain.

Prior to this incident, Gonzalez Jr was labelled as one of the most talented racers in Spain.
At the age of just eight, Gonzalez Jr broke a karting track record, and when he was 13 years old, he became the youngest driver ever to drive a Formula 3 car.
Over the years, Gonzalez Jr had stints in Spanish Formula 4, Formula Masters China and the Asian Formula Renault series.
Back in 2018, he finished in second place in the Asian Formula Renault series.

Breaking through as a young and talented racer, Gonzalez was tipped to make it all the way to the top of motorsports, F1.

However, the report stated that Gonzalez Jr's dream of reaching F1 never materialised due to financial constraints.
It has been reported that Gonzalez Jr appeared in court this week, having been charged with the murder of his father, Gonzalez Snr.

Gonzalez Jr is believed to have been held in custody since being arrested in July. It has been said that he was apprehended by police in the nearby town of Sinovas, after he fled there on the back of the incident.
It has been stated that Gonzalez Snr, 56, was still alive when emergency services arrived at the warehouse where the stabbing occurred, but eventually died due to the injuries suffered.
The Mirror went on to claim that reports in Spain suggested that Gonzalez Jr has since confessed to the killing.
However, the 23-year-old also said that his father was the person who first brandished a weapon, believed to be a machete-like blade measuring 10 to 15cm.

The weapon in question remains unfound after Gonzalez Jr allegedly threw it in a nearby river.
The trial is ongoing, with Gonzalez Jr said to be seeking a lesser sentence.
