Max Verstappen may have previously breached a clause within his Red Bull contract.
Verstappen, 28, is already one of the greatest drivers in Formula 1 history, having won four world championships.
In 2025, the Dutchman's reign as F1 king was halted by McLaren star Lando Norris, who managed to fend off a late Verstappen charge to seal his maiden title by two points.
Being one of the biggest names in the sport, it is well-documented that Verstappen has a huge contract with Red Bull.

It has been previously suggested that Verstappen is the highest-paid driver on the grid, taking home around $76 million per year.
There are also certain clauses within Verstappen's contract that he has to adhere to.
Back in 2024, it was reported by The Sun that Verstappen may have breached a clause within his Red Bull deal.
It was stated that Verstappen went skiing between the 2024 Australian Grand Prix and the Japanese Grand Prix.
The report claimed that Verstappen's contract had a clause that prevents him from taking part in 'dangerous sports', with skiing said to be included.

However, then-Red Bull senior advisor Helmut Marko revealed that Verstappen went skiing.
When asked about Verstappen's DNF in Australia, Marko said: "Unfortunately, such a defect happens sometimes.
"In the meantime, Max was skiing in Japan in the most wonderful, best deep snow in the world."
Marko was then quizzed on whether Verstappen is allowed to ski or not, he replied: "I’ve already told you too much…"
Speaking previously, Verstappen said: "There is a risk in everything. I haven’t skied in five years because of the risk of breaking or twisting something with all the consequences that entails.
"And of course also in the knowledge that there are still years to come in which I have a great chance of becoming champion again and winning races. If you think about that, you automatically take fewer risks."
