Formula 1 fans watching the Las Vegas Grand Prix practice sessions have been reacting after an awkward advert was spotted.

On Thursday night, the 20 best drivers got back behind the wheel as the Las Vegas Grand Prix got underway with FP1 and FP2.

Mercedes great and seven-time F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton topped both sessions in what was a positive night for the Brackley-based team.

However, Max Verstappen, who could clinch his fourth title this weekend, struggled as he finished fifth and then 17th.

Prior to the race in Sin City, all 20 drivers united as they released a statement under the GPDA (Grand Prix Drivers Association) to voice their concerns over the sport's governing body, the FIA.

The statement was made after a series of controversial decisions from the FIA, including ordering Verstappen to serve community work due to saying the word 'f***ed' during a press conference.

It read: "With regards to swearing, there is a difference between swearing intended to insult others and more casual swearing, such as you might use to describe bad weather, or indeed an inanimate object such as a Formula 1 car, or a driving situation.

"We urge the FIA President to also consider his own tone and language when talking to our member drivers, or indeed about them, whether in a public forum or otherwise.

"Further, our members are adults, they do not need to be given instructions via the media, about matters as trivial as the wearing of jewelry and underpants."

During FP1, the camera panned past a brilliantly timed advert that read: "We are all adults here."

F1 journalist Chris Medland wrote on social media: "Beautiful bit of timing in FP1 as the camera pans past an advert reading: "We are all adults here".

"The GPDA open letter told FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem that "our members are adults"."-

Reacting to the advert, one fan said: "Guess Vegas really knows how to set the scene—adults only, on and off the track!"

Another tweeted: "Love the perfect timing and subtle humor!"

A third fan added: "Perfect timing."

Someone else wrote: "“WE ARE ALL ADULTS HERE”. HILARIOUS. ICONIC."
