Max Verstappen calls out British reporters with savage comment in F1 Brazilian GP press conference

Max Verstappen calls out British reporters with savage comment in F1 Brazilian GP press conference

Verstappen won the Brazilian Grand Prix from P17.

Max Verstappen has brutally called out the British media during the FIA press conference following the Brazilian Grand Prix.

It was a drive of the ages at Interlagos on Sunday, as Verstappen charged through the field to go from 17th to 1st and put one hand on the F1 2024 championship.

The reigning world champion carved through the field during the early laps, gaining seven positions in the first lap.

The unpredictable weather added an extra dynamic to the race, with many believing a wet track levels the playing field in a sport where the car is so important.

Verstappen made the bold choice to stay out along with the eventual podium sitters Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly, whilst championship rival Lando Norris dived into the pits from second place.

Following an untimely red flag caused by Franco Colapinto, Verstappen was allowed to change his tires without a pit stop putting him second on the road with fresh tires.

Verstappen managed to navigate his way into the lead following the restart, whilst Norris lost two places by skidding off track at turn one.

Following the race, Verstappen hit out at the British media for not showing up to the post-race press conference.

"I have a quick question here. I mean I appreciate all of you being here, but I don't see any British press?" He said.

"Did they have to run to the airport? Or do they not know where the press conference is…? Do you know? No clue?"

Verstappen had previously called out 'British bias' in the sport by claiming he had the 'wrong passport' for the paddock.

It was a rollercoaster day for the Dutchman, with Sunday's qualifying becoming a disaster when he was knocked out in Q2.

"Of course, I was very frustrated with qualifying. But we tried to just use it as a good motivation in the race. Luckily we had a great start and from there onwards, we were just having a really good feeling in the car," he told reporters.

"So incredibly happy with today. Honestly, it's crazy. I never expected to go from P17 to P1. I was hoping for good points, but this is absolutely crazy."
