Max Verstappen was once involved in a furious altercation with a fellow Formula 1 star at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
After a two-week break on the back of the Mexico Grand Prix, the 2025 F1 campaign continues this weekend at the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Heading into the race, McLaren star Lando Norris leads the world championship by one point, with teammate Oscar Piastri in second place.
Meanwhile, four-time champion Verstappen is currently 36 points off the leader.

With just four races left to run, the fight to become world champion is set to go down to the wire.
In Brazil, there is an expectation that the weekend will be filled with chaos and drama, due to the nature of the track and the weather conditions.
Over the years, we have seen some controversial moments in Interlagos.

Back in 2018, a fresh-faced Verstappen was involved in a heated clash with then-Force India driver Esteban Ocon.
On Lap 44, Ocon, who was on fresh soft tyres, was looking to unlap himself as he approached race leader Verstappen.
However, the pair tangled as they made contact at Turn 2, which resulted in both cars spinning.
In the end, Verstappen finished in second place behind Lewis Hamilton.

At the time, the stewards placed the blame on Ocon and handed the Frenchman a 10-second stop-and-go penalty.
During his cool-down lap, Verstappen blasted: “I hope I can't find him now in the paddock because that guy has a f****** problem.”
After the race, clearly still frustrated with the incident, Verstappen was seen confronting Ocon at the weighbridge.

The Ducthman was adjudged to have 'made deliberate physical contact' with his fellow driver after being caught pushing and shoving Ocon.
Ultimately, Verstappen was ordered to serve two days of public service by F1's governing body, the FIA.
An official verdict from the stewards read: "The Stewards understood from Max Verstappen that he was extremely upset by the incident on track during the race and accepted his explanation that it was not his original intent to strike Ocon, but that he was “triggered” and caused him to lose his temper,.
"While sympathetic to Verstappen’s passion, the Stewards determined that it is the obligation of sportsmen at this level to act appropriately and as role models to other drivers at all levels and found that Verstappen failed in this respect."
